Hatteras

I got to spend a wonderful week on the OBX with my pappa….and my brother Jim came over for most of the week too!  Hurricane Irene really did a number on the island a couple of weeks before our trip…the storm knocked out several sections of the only road into the Cape Hatteras National Seashore…lucky for us they finally opened the island back up to a limited number of visitors that were able to secure transportation thru the NC Ferry system and coming up from the south….good thing I stalked that website daily waiting for the announcement.  Having to go the ferry route sure changed up the way we had to travel and it ended up adding an additional 7 hours of transit time, BUT it was worth it to spend a whole week with my dad in his favorite place doing his favorite thing.  Fishin’ in Hatteras!!  Love ya dad!

 

Ovo!

This past weekend we traveled to Chicago to see Cirque du Soleil Ovo under the big top in the parking lot of the United Center.  It was by far the smallest setting that we had ever seen one of their shows in as there was seating for only 2,000 people.  This may just be our favorite show so far… but there are still so many more to see!

 

Meet Boone!

We are pleased to announce the arrival of our newest family member…. 6 month old Boone.  He is such a sweet boy and we are excited to see him train.  Our goal is to have Boone be a therapy dog for Sara’s Garden…he is already showing that he has the perfect personality for it.  He has gone into “work” already and did really well.  It was so neat to see one of our clients interact with him….smiles, melt my heart.

Alaska

I (Julie) had the privilege of flying up to Alaska in July for 11 days to babysit for the Rychener clan….I am pretty sure it’s the longest commute any babysitter has had to make!!  Not to rub it in or anything but I was the first family member to meet Titus!!  What a cutie!

Birthday Fun

While Julie was jet setting in Alaska she convinced her parents to trash my office in honor of the 15th anniversary of my 25th birthday.
